Zack Snyder has started working on his latest movie, moon rebelsAnd he’s sharing a first look at the upcoming sci-fi adventure on Netflix, too. On Tuesday, Snyder took to social media to share three behind-the-scenes photos from the movie’s first day of shooting with the simple caption “I’ve begun.” In the photos, we get a glimpse of what appears to be set for the spacecraft’s landing area, inside and out, as well as a black and white photo of Djimon Hounsou in full costume.

First announced last summer, in moon rebels When a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical guardian named Balisarius, desperate people send a young woman with a mysterious past to search for warriors from neighboring planets to help them make a stand. The idea for the film is said to have started as a “more mature” Star Wars move that Snyder made a decade ago, but it didn’t come to fruition after Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012.

Snyder said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s my love for sci-fi and giant adventure. I hope this also becomes a huge IP address and a universe that can be built.”

“I’ve spent the last two or three years building this universe. Every corner of it has to be drawn in. I’ve been making designs, constantly painting and cultivating its truly fertile ground to fully realize this world.”

In addition to Hounsou, Rebel Moon will star Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Donna Bay, Ray Fisher, Robert Friend, Stuart Martin, Staz Nair, E. Duffy, Charlotte Maggie, Skye Young, Jenna Malone, Carrie Elwes, Michelle Huisman, Alfonso. Herrera and Cory Stoll. The movie is the latest Snyder movie for Netflix and joins Army of the Dead as another Snyder franchise for Streamer. The first part of the Army of the Dead, Army of Thieves, was released in 2021 while the animation for Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas and its sequel to Army of the Dead was released.
